The practice of various styles of Taijiquan with the methodology and pedagogy specific to Eric Caulier Taijiquan School, makes possible to highlight common principles of each style while identifying more clearly the distinctive characteristic, without dispersion. It is at the same time opening of horizon and deepening of comprehension. The evolution of the body techniques in Occident in the light of biomechanics emphasizes invariants when we are looking to use the body in an efficient way. Taijiquan as developed at Eric Caulier Taijiquan School is based on these principles: importance of the legs, unification of the action of the various body parts, use of the global force of the body, … We integrate the aphorism which the Masters of Taijiquan did not cease repeating: "the energy roots itself in feet, develops in the legs, is guided by the waist and blossoms in the hands".
