The taijiquan is the fruit of a long story in an open culture able to integrate in a harmonious whole the most disparate elements.
Our School teaches:
- 5 principal styles of taijiquan: Yang, Chen, Wu, Sun, Wu Hao
- 3 internal arts: taijiquan, xinyiquan, baguazhang
- the work of the breath: qi gong, nei gong
- practice: basic exercises, forms, pushing hands, applications
- the theory: principles, biomechanics, energetics, symbolic system, philosophy
In the study of the traditional ways, Antoine Faivre, professor emeritus in the Sorbonne, defined three approaches. The “purists” seeking the original tradition and the “eclectics” gleaning everywhere oppose all that is not traditional. The “humanistic ones” enrich their traditional practice by exploration of sciences (psychology, anthropology, cognitive sciences, microphysics, etc). Our School, resolutely humanistic, takes part, since its foundation in 1987, in the settlement of bridges between Orient and Occident, between tradition and postmodernity, science and tradition.
Link with the source, high level of training of the teachers and user-friendliness are the typical characteristics of the School. Fourteen teachers have received ranks between 2nd and the 4th duan from the Chinese Association of wushu. The Chinese authorities decreed the 6th duan on the founder, Eric Caulier. The organization of the courses makes it possible for each participant to evolve in accordance within their own capacity. |
