It is said that time waters the contours of memories but I Do believe that nothing will be able to rub this excellent one I keep of my first training course of Taijiquan at "l'Abbaye de Saint Denis" ! I feel it is to be marked with a white stele because it is the issue and rewards of an uneasyt year when I tried to recover physically and mentally!
Destroyed person, shame of my too heavy body, distresses of Space and Others, it is what still remains to me to be mastered in spite of the great sweeping in my life : I had chuck evything up to start afresh in an unknown city where I knew only my daughter and my son-in-law! I thus sought activities which woould help to centre me, to recover from the last after-effects of a paralysis and to manage the irreversible lesions. I FOUND THAT ALL IN ONE, the day I met ERIC AND GEORGETTE, FRANCINE AND ALAIN, at the "Salon Valeriane" in Namur.
They cordially welcomed me within Eric Caulier Taijiquan School. And everyone on his level, encouraged me all along the months, to continue my quest of a best; they guided me, indulgenly and kindly, until SUMMER TRAINING COURSE 2002. Nevertheless I feared to go there : in Namur I was surrounded, therefore secure… What should I do over there in another group that I did not know and who did not know my problems: I felt still so fragile in spite of appearances which I tried to show !
But in Saint Denis there was not only this unique site, so favourable to Serenity, there was not only this convivial environment, there was …MARTINE…
She lead our "class" patienly and softly; with firmness too! Effective, very mobile, seing everything, she corrected us tactfully. Her course, very structured, suited me wonderfully given that, if I succeeded to better manage my body, my spirit had still an annoying tendency to dispersion! Twenty years of various anxiolytic had corroded my memory and, very often, after the Alain's course, I found myself again on the pavement, everything forgotten!
But really thanks to ERIC and his simple and rational explanations, his sober and revitalizing energy I growned to a deeper comprehension of Tai-Ji-Quan; with this humble but convinced consciousness that the regular practice of this discipline will finally lead me to INTERIOR CALMS, a better management of my ME, and who knows, to remove my complexes and my last anxieties!
It is Useless to add I am ready to come back to Saint Denis, even right now !
